A Therma-Tru fiberglass door looks like wood. But it won't warp or rot like wood, or dent or rust like steel. And the inside is filled with an exceptional heat-and cold-resistant material that helps keep your home warm in winter and cool in summer.
Using a clean, dry rag, clean the entire surface with mineral spirits or an all-purpose cleaner such as Top Job, Mr. Clean or Pine Sol. Rinse soap off thoroughly. Allow to dry completely.
Clean area first with mineral spirits or an all-purpose cleaner. Then, use a small artist brush or cotton swab to apply stain to the nicks or scratches. Carefully wipe or brush off excess stain, let dry and then apply a thin coat of the topcoat over the repaired area. Also, there are a variety of "touch-up markers" or repair pencils that repair scratches or nicks in finishes on fine wood furniture. These do a nice job too.
Any alteration or application of any aftermarket films, coatings, tints or other similar products not originally supplied by Absaroka Door or Therma-Tru will void the glass limited warranty.
Condensation, or "sweating", occurs naturally in the home, caused by excessive humidity, or invisible water vapor, in the air. When this harmless water vapor comes in contact with a surface which is at a cooler temperature, such as windows or door glass, the vapor turns to visible droplets of moisture. The energy-efficient glass units in Therma-Tru door systems are constructed to keep the glass as warm as possible, reducing condensation build-up. However, there is no such thing as a condensation-free window or door glass in high-humidity conditions.
If your door is new, the hinges could be tight until they receive some use. Lubricate the hinges with silicone spray or 3-in-one oil.
There is a flat head screw on the top of the closer. Turn it to the right until it is tight. Then turn it left one full turn. Test the speed. To increase it more, turn it 1/4 turn and test. Repeat until the door is closing at your desired speed.
